I have not posted much about these recently. Here are the two from Friday. If you traded them correctly and traded 500 to 1000 shares a piece, the results should have been about a plus $3500 for the month. 24 Trades - 13 wins - 6 losses - 5 break even. It is not an easy system to do. Every so often it will hand you a really big loss and you must have guts to play it.

Friday Trade Review 1/30/2009
I did not have much time to trade the market as usual on Fridays for me. I did one trade in RIMM and made some coin. I hate trading RIMM. I never seem to make money on it or its bad brother AAPL. I was late into the trade and late out of the trade (or too early out if I could catch the next leg down).
-
My trading really seems to be locked into buy new highs at big numbers or selling new lows at big numbers. In this case, I was selling RIMM at 56. I really feel I should have taken more out of the trade and as Crack always says - "PEEL".

Friday Trade Review 1/23/2009
I am way behind on everything this weekend. Friday was no big deal except I screwed up a couple of trades because my head was still not on straight from Thursday. The only thing I can say about Friday is I got back on the horse again.

Thursday Trade Review 1/22/2009
Two words for today - "I sucked". I pick today to have my every 6 week mental melt down. I broke most of my rules, over traded, revenge traded, fat fingered another order and was just plain stupid. I guess I am just really frustrated about a lot of things and decided to let my trading show it.

2008 Yearly Numbers
My 2009 numbers:
-
Wins: 725 Losses: 451
Avg Win: 37.70 Avg Loss: -46.59
Gross Trading: 6,322.32
Commissions: -5778
Net Trading: 544.07
Biggest Win: 626.00 Biggest Loss: -546.00
Data Fees: -1,297
Interest: 1,734
Account Net: 981.21
The bottom line of above is I made my broker happy. I was trying to figure out what all my monthly and yearly numbers mean to me. I know when I started this 3 years ago I only shorted a stock of two in my whole trading life. I had never traded currencies before and it had been over 20 years since I had traded stock indexes.
-
When in 2006 I decided to give this a try because my investing results sucked. I thought the way to make money was day trading. That year, my trading was producing swings of up to +/-7% in my account daily. After seeing how that could kill an account, my goal was lower those swings by a great deal. I did. In 2007, those swings became about +/-1.5% but I did not stop there. In 2009, the swings now are under 1% and most days under 0.2%. Now I have the other problem. I have gone from being way too wild to way too conservative and I need to correct that.
-
I feel I have learned a lot about trading over those 3 years. How to try to go against the idiots. How the open and close are different from the rest of the day. How certain stock groups of stocks trade. How to short stocks. How it is better to buy strength and short weakness.
-
I do not understand why I have become such a chicken to take the necessary risks to be successful. I see it in other parts of my life too. For the first time in my life, I am not struggling with money other than all that has been lost in 401ks and IRAs yet it is even harder for me to take chances. I can only guess it is seeing so many friends losing life savings in stocks or real estate or careers or just the feeling that the bull market in so many things is over and life is going to be a lot harder than it has been.
-
I feel I have a good eye for charts. I need to use the "Blink" method more often. I got to teach my brain to trust my eye and my gut and start flying this year.

Thursday Trade Review 1/15/2009
You can read the comments on the chart to see how I battled JPM for half the day. The game is a game of inches. Today I got top ticked on a stop of a short of the Dow futures. The the Dow dropped 45 points - pisser. One of the great frustrations of this game. This week I bought when I meant to sell. I missed typed a couple of orders wrong and I placed two stops too close by a tick or two. Take all that into consideration, I would be having a great week instead of down a small amount. This shit drives me crazy.

Mid Day Thoughts 1/15/2009
I just hate it when you are right on the trade but your stop was one tick too close and you did not have the guts to gut in again. Details later.

One more F... I mean thought.
MUST remember everyday - every trading day - is a new day. Today's results have nothing to do with yesterday's results or your monthly total or year total. Also the last trade has nothing to do with the next or for that fact what you are going to have for dinner that night - period.
Radiohead - Creap
I did not trade today but this song keeps going through my head. I normally do not post Music Videos but what the hell. Somehow this song always reminds me of Dinosaur Trader - wonder why? Maybe he will put me back on his Blog List one day. It might also even freak or hehe creap him out to know that I saw Radiohead soon after they went on tour when this single came out many years ago.

Monday Trading Review 1/12/2009
I was going to post a couple more charts and call this post - "Woulda coulda shoulda" - but it is late and I am tired and my wife keeps yelling at me for aways pointing out what I do wrong instead of what I do right. So the bottom line of today is I made one trade and it made money just like I did on Friday. I will not mention the part where I should have not gotten freaked out and instead of making just $50 on the trade, I could have made so much more - lol.

This is the one where I did not push the buttoms correctly.......
You can not fuck up a non-trade better than what I did here. I do not know if the coffee was not working or that I had anything else wrong but good god - I could not think and type at the same time and I was afraid if I used a market order, I would get slipped 40 pips. Thank you for the comments below.
Friday Trade Review 1/9/2009
At least I did not completely screw this one up. I was quick enough to put in my starter position orders for RIO. I like to start with 500 then as it goes in my favor - add more in pieces of either 500 or 1000. Things were moving fast enough where I did not add but it turned out to be an okay trade - my only trade of the day.

I really did not have time to trade today but I forced a couple in anyway. I tried going long AAPL near the open. One trade I basically lost $150 and the second I gained $151. No big deal.

Wednesday Trade Review 12/31/2008
I decided to trade stock futures today for the first time in a long time. Stupid idea. I took a fast $200 lost and it messed with my mind for the rest of the day. I had a total of 3 trade setups in the futures. I took the first one and lost. I then decided not to take the other two which both would have been positive. Any way I found it to be a hard day to trade.
