One more F... I mean thought.

MUST remember everyday - every trading day - is a new day. Today's results have nothing to do with yesterday's results or your monthly total or year total. Also the last trade has nothing to do with the next or for that fact what you are going to have for dinner that night - period.

Fridays Thoughts 2/29/2008

I will do some posting over the weekend. The wife wants to have a "Date Night" which it has been a while for us. Bottom line is I will not be posting tonight. Any way my day sucked and I lost about $100 overall.

Here we go again? 10/21/2007

Just got done with watching tonight's TV with the wife (Desperate Housewives and Brothers/Sisters) and decided to peak at the markets one last time. Talk about a bloody mess. Crude is getting hammered. Gold is getting Hammered. Dow futures (YM) down 115. Nasdaq down -19. S&P down 12. Even Corn and Soybeans are getting hit.
-
I first saw it when using Bloglines (it allows you to get notified when a new post in done on someones site you have subscribed to) I came across with. I like Brian. He is one of the good guys.
-
Time for bed. Maybe I should get hammered too? hum.

Some charts 10/21/2007

Small Cap Index - Did not make a new high this last push and now is below its 200 day moving average - very bearish. Not what you want to see.

Mid Cap Index- Not much better then the Small Cap Index except it is not lower than its 200 day moving average (close).

SP500 Index - Very quickly it finds itself in major support area. If it declines much more - it will be very bearish.

Dow - Just holding up a hair better than the SP500. Needs to start finding a foothold here or it will be bearish soon.
QQQQs - Very strong - looks like just a plain old mini correction in the index so far. No big deal.

Emerging Markets - God I wish I had all my money there. At one point in my 401k, I had about 60% there. Over the last year, I have reduced that to about 25%. Trying not to be a pig.

China- What is there to say, it is just Insane.
-
The circles on the charts are where the 50 and 200 day moving averages are. You can click on the chart to make it more readable.
-
So depending where you like to invest, either this correction so far is no big deal or you could be in a world of hurt. In my investments, I usually have a little of everything but maybe a big piece in one place. It is always good to look at what are the winners and losers in this market and balance yourself correctly.
-
A couple of years ago, the Small and Mid Cap stocks were the place to be - no longer.

The Fed and Market views 9/23/2007

The above charts are Crude, Euro, TBond and Dow futures - 1 month/1 hour charts.
-
I wanted to wait a couple of days to see how the markets reacted to the Fed cut and wanted to revisited my views that I believed the markets had a good chance of testing the recent lows or breaking them.
-
This is how the markets have voted so far:
Crude Oil: the Fed is Dumb
Gold: the Fed are idiots
Dollar: how dumb can the Fed be?
Mortgage Rates: the Fed are morons
T-Bonds: the Fed is brain dead
Stock Markets: "Let's start partying like it is 1999"
-
The bottom line: As long as there is not some crazy hidden problem out there, the stock market may have a problems with new highs but should work higher over the longer term. The Fed and other Central Banks do not want the markets to go down. The places to be are gold, oil, natural resources and dollar related plays.
-
I think the Fed notes will say something like this "Here have another bottle of JD. You can always stop drinking tomorrow". I do not know about you but I am alarmed at the rate prices are going up for food and energy. Two things I have a hard time getting by without.

Sunday Night Thoughts 8/26/2007

I do not like this market right now. I think we will have a higher market this week - drifting up slowly. This decline happened too orderly -too easy. The Fed came in and everything was all better. Too simple and not enough pain. I am looking for the decline to possibility start again once all the players come back in September.
-
The forex markets have gained about 50% of what they lost for the majors. I am just not following these will enough too trade. I hope that I have more time to trade - I will.
-
Tomorrow should be interesting day or I mean later this week. I have another Cat Scan done to see if I have something growing in my lungs. I hope to know the results by Wednesday. I do not think there is anything wrong but who knows - maybe a Black Swan.
-
On another note, I am posting a few posts on The Trading Goddess website. You can find me there too. I will keep my results, trade reviews and thoughts here.
